Clooney and his Lebanese-British wife Amal donated a total of $100,000 to show their support for the victims of the massive explosion in Beirut that killed over 100 people and injured thousands.
“We’re both deeply concerned for the people of Beirut and the devastation they’ve faced in the last few days”, the couple said in a statement.
The Oscar-winning actor and human rights attorney also encouraged anyone who can to participate in relief efforts to help repair damage and assist those affected by the tragedy. Their statement further explained, "We will be donating $100,000 to these charities and hope that others will help in any way they can."
The donation comes after the couple contributed more than $1 million earlier this year to help those impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic in April.
